I'm trying to print from openbsd 3.5. to lexmark m410 connected to jetdirect 300x.
Usually I've used redhat and cups ( printing just works, earlier I used to have to copy .ppd file to model folder but that was as hard as it got )
I installed LPrng foomatic ifhp ghostscript a2ps

I guess that the model line should match a printer description in /usr/local/etc/ifhp.conf
if I set the printer to ps emulation then try to print
echo ppp | lp
on the printer display it says
mick (STDIN):lp and the light flashes the printer whirrs but nothing is printed.
( actually if I try to print while the printer is in power saving mode the printer does not whirr or change the display but if I then press menu and return it does display the above and whirr ).
help appreciated
