The data capture part of the project MAY be doable as a summer project
(there's more than that to getting it into a supported release),  but
I'm doubtful it's a /good/ project - what thing would the student
actually *learn* that they could then apply to their future life?  Seems
like it would be such a one-off thing... maybe Alexey, who has run
several other LSB-themed GSoC projects, has some thoughts?
