Looks like I jumped the gun on the sample base distro issue, and it's already being handled. Well, at least I've made it clear that I'm an uninformed newbie. ;-) Thanks for the input, though. BTW, Alan made a good point that it would be a good idea to avoid starting with an existing distribution. IMO that doesn't mean we can't "borrow" pieces of existing scripts, etc. where appropriate.
