I am new to AD & Java, please be gentle. We have a corporate AD DS
used for user & group management, authentication, etc. Data level
security is available in a Oracle database. As we integrate with more
external and cloud-based systems, we find that most of these systems
work best with directory services provided by an AD LDS instance. This
would indicate that we need some software that is able to combine data
from AD DS & Oracle and load it into a AD LDS instance. The LSC
connector would seem to fit the bill.
I see the quick start tutorial
<http://lsc-project.org/wiki/documentation/latest/sample>but is there
a similar tutorial that has AD DS & a relational database like Oracle
writing to AD LDS? Googling around shows almost no blog posts or
stackoverflow answers in this area.
Are there any other options out there to do this sort of thing?
Hi,
you need first to read some advices on synchronization with AD :
http://lsc-project.org/wiki/documentation/howto/activedirectory
You will see that you need a specific tool to get password out from AD
DS. You should better use Microsoft sync tool to synchronize AD DS to AD
LDS (I think Microsoft give it for free).
The you can use LSC to sync data from your Oracle DB to AD LDS. For
this, the tutorial is a good start as it takes a database as source and
an LDAP directory as destination.
