Hi all,
I am new to the list so please forgive my lack of knowledge.
We have a new project to split our LDAP infrastructure in two
different environments. The DIT of the existing environment is
“dc=company,dc=com”, whereas the DIT of the new environment will be
“dc=DEVcompany,dc=com”. For the first few months after the split we
will need to synchronize LDAP objects (user accounts, groups, etc.)
from the existing environment to the new environment (one way synch
only). Will LSC allow me to do so if the two directory DITs are
different? In other words, will I be able to sync the passwords for
the below 2 accounts:
“uid=jdoe,ou=people dc=company,dc=com” à “uid=jdoe,ou=people
dc=DEVcompany,dc=com”
Only the name of the top of the DIT will change, everything else will
remain the same.
We are using Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition (former Sun
ONE Directory server, former iPlanet, former Netscape).
Thank you all in advance for your help.
Hi,
of course LSC is able to do that as you can configure the base DN and
set the DN syntax in the <mainIdentifier> configuration parameter.
Please tell us if you have problems to configure your connector.
