As a co-author, I support adoption. It's only a first step, but I have a hope that this would help to provide faster, cheaper and more automated knowledge of conformance statements for various usages: from RFP/RFI/sourcing, to checking support of key feature before enablement, to identifying equipment lacking support and hence potential candidate for replacements (e.g. rather than refreshing some hardware parts). And even for the IETF with RFC7942 (implementation status section) and WGs having a requirement for implementations. Current process is very manual and time consuming both for vendors and network operators, especially when one has a lot of different platforms and vendors.
