recursiveness is easy to understand If by "strictly hierarchical" you mean that I could split subTLV across TLV parts only if it contains internally self contained TLVs (from top level those would be sub-sub-TLV) then I think that this would be fine. But this on the other hand seems at odds with the last comment from Les ...
