Minutes for UA MOPS meeting, March 23, 2006

In attendance:
Kobus Barnard, Andy Connolly Alon Efrat, Scott Morris, Praveen Rao

Main points:

   1. We initiated the practice of having every second meeting a telecom with
U.Pitt/CMU. This meeting Andy joined us via speaker phone.

   2. Andy reported Jeremy's code integrated with PanSTARRS. Operating
at 99% efficiency at identifying tracks.

   3. Discussed integrating our software design with PanSTARRS. Andy will get
UA a copy of PanSTARRS design document. Praveen Rao will analyze it with
      respect to integration.

   4. Discussed recent PanSTARRS-MOPS topic on Milani's "sour spots." Seems to
suggest our hypothesis, probabilistic approach will be necessary. Could
      also drive observation scheduling.

   5. UA updated Andy on our activities regarding orbit fitting and matching
      detections to orbital hypotheses.

   6. Andy expressed interest in a speed vs. accuracy study for orbit fitting
code, looking at trade off in accuracy for more complexity in fit.

   7. Discussion on cost of matching a phantom orbit to a phantom observation
and the efficacy of greedy vs. Hungarian comparison.

   8. Next week, Pasquale Tricarico from PSI will join us and discuss ORSA and
