mysql on teragrid for DC1
- problems with setup script related to WCSlib/WCSTools,
possible to bypass by removing offending lines
- missing mysqldb python module (I temporarily installed it
in my sandbox)
- apparently there is a pacman script for that already
- catalog ingest service does not allow to configure mysql
socket, and we can't use default sockets because we have
non-standard mysql installation done without root privileges.
- socket is used for local connections, outside connections
use host:port. We do want to run catalog ingest service
on the same machine where we run mysql server
- potentially the doc explaining how to setup mysql on teragrid
might be unclear how to add second slave (which commands are
per slave, which are one-time)
- I'll fix that
- I'll also add info about managing replication, checking
status etc
Planning to have a mini-workshop to discuss schema and cross-talk
- tentatively in Baltimore, mid September
- suggested attendees: Maria, Ani, Tim, Sergei, Kem, Jacek
- may need ~1 1/2 days (~1/2 day needed for cross-talk discussion)
There is a VO meeting at JHU now about VO databases and
cross-talk, very relevant to lsst
Ani will organize DB/DataAccess teleconferences as needed
while I'm gone. I'll be in email contact and possibly will
join e.g. through skype
