In the teleconference today, we spent quite a bit of time talking about
logging in general and NetLogger in specific. As per Tim's suggestion,
here is some further reading on the topic:
NetLogger website: http://dsd.lbl.gov/NetLogger/
NetLogger Methodology: http://dsd.lbl.gov/NetLogger/methodology.html
NetLogger Manual (this is the most up-to-date document on the website):
http://dsd.lbl.gov/NetLogger/documentation/netlogger-manual/index.html
My wrapper around the NetLogger Python interface is available in the
Subversion archive in "branches/DC1/src/log/LSSTLog.py", in case anyone
wants to take a peek at it. However, I think we should continue with
the plan as described in the teleconference - for now, use Michelle's
logging API, which I will replace with a NetLogger-based implementation
in the near future. For reference on using NetLogger's C API, you might
want to check out branches/DC1/examples/apps/mpi/spawn_C/manager.c .
Cheers,
-Jon
