Just a quick note: MOPS is currently a 32 bit system and has never been tested on a 64 bit machine. Such a test would be interesting though (but potentially filled with bitter surprises).

Data Challenge 1
Small runs up to an hour today, investigate whether logging files open issue is solved, if issues are solved, there will be a more extended fully integrated run Friday of next week or Monday following, including db ingest. Can usually get TeraGrid nodes for an hour without a reservation, depending on when. 8-hour reservations usually require 1 week advance. We have maxed out data transfer rates, we can still increase number of nodes/CPUs. Working on “latest performance statistics” document and report.
Clusters
Need cluster for MOPS, working on stand alone install on FP machine, cluster at BNL. Can also set up account on Xeon cluster at NCSA. Newer 64-bit dual core Xeon clusters at NCSA are available starting in mid-October for special projects. RP has discussed with Rob Pennington to get access to 32 nodes to migrate off llst-archive cluster, should be possible.
LSST R&D Plan/FY07 Budget – Plan posted as document-2400, please read over, shows how Tim and I are describing R&D work to NSF/DOE. Covers inception to end of R&D.
