Gilles,

I have no objection to the content of the patches.  Two requests
however:

1) Please included patch descriptions in the patches themselves so that
detail can be included in the git commits Subrata makes.

2) Please include a few sentences on how you have tested the patches.
Since we will often rely on your testing to Ack the patches, we need to
know which platforms you tested on and how you tested.
