yet linux proved itself and now it has a community.  either the same will 
happen with way, or it'll wither and die.  LTP's utilization of waf will make 
no difference at all in this outcome.  LTP however clearly stands to lose out 
in terms of wasting developer time ...

we target Linux but that doesnt mean we have to tell everyone else to toss 
off.  we can structure things nicely from the get go.  if non-Linux people 
wish to contribute, then we can review their stuff.  if it gets to be too 
much of a hassle, then we certainly can so "no" and they can do their own 
branch/fork.

regardless, often times the issue of "old Linux" and "non-Linux" is the same: 
some headers work, some dont ... some functions exist, some dont ...
