Once upon a time when I did work with Linux on a daily basis, I came
up with this:
http://ltp.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=ltp/ltp.git;a=history;f=execltp.in;h=c5cc7c35e5af199e0497b37f88a3df0bb8285094;hb=HEAD
.

It does reasonably well, except for the fact that there are bugs in
pan that prevent it from getting 100% visibility when executed.

There are some docs in the docs directory that describe what the logs
format is in more detail, but beware the cobwebs.
