hi

it seems that he 'vesa' driver in X 4.1.0 may be an option. i;ve got this
working with an old SIS 6205 chipset machine today, with 2.0.9pre on RH 7.2,
3c509 card

Packaging the old X 3.x.x servers will be useful

i'll put the lts.conf on my website later http://people.redhat.com/mherbert

i've been 'off-project' for a while, but its still really good stuff
