suse usually takes kdm as the default if KDE is installed.
you can set it with yast->admin.->login konfiguration
or in /etc/rc.config:

To allow Xterminals/LTSP Clients, the files
/etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config
/opt/kde2/share/config/kdmrc
have to be modified,
I guess the Ltsp install-script is doing it for you.
