Yes, the Citrix client connects to the Citrix server. However, I think
the question is, in the LTSP environment, should the Citrix CLIENT be
running as a local app on the LTSP terminal, or should the Cirtix client
be running on the LTSP server and just displaying on the LTSP terminal.
I've found that for my uses $500-600 clients are quite acceptable, and
gets you a fairly modern Athlon or fast celeron/PIII client. With these
clients I tend to run all the apps locally. I think in your situation,
there are several things to consider. How many LTSP clients are you
running? Is a P200 system fast enough to give you good performance with
the Citrix client?
If you're running lots of LTSP clients, and a P200 will give you
acceptable performance with the Citrix client, then run it locally. If
you've only got a few LTSP clients, then look at running the Citrix client
on the LTSP server. If a P200 won't give you acceptable performance with
the Citrix client, then look at running the Citrix client on the LTSP
server.
Now, I haven't run LTSP in a large development environment yet, so your
mileage may vary.
