Hi.

I'm new here. I downloaded K12LTSP (2 CDs) from ibiblio.org, burned the CDs,
installed, and now I'm stuck.

Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf)
Kernel 2.4.2-2 on an i586

localhost login:

When I enter *any* username I *immediately* get "login incorrect", the
screen clears and then I'm returned to the login: prompt.

I can "boot: linux single" and have a look around ok. I removed the root
passwd from /etc/passwd but that makes no difference. It seems the system
has a fault with the login/passwd systems, but I don't know enough about
that to hack with it.

One problem I did have with the install was, slang failed its' md5sum. I
downloaded a new one, did "rpm -i" and that's fixed. Maybe there was
another rpm that failed??

Any, and all suggestions would be most welcome.

regards,
Steve
