LTSP 2.09pre4 is very stable.  The only reason we haven't made it a 
production
release yet is because I am still working on the documentation, and I don't
want to release it until that is done.

if you go by the Instructions sheet on the ltsp site for 2.09pre4, you 
shouldn't have
any problems.
