Hello. Just installed a RedHat 7.2 system. Can't log into KDE from the remote station. on the LTSP server (ip=192.168.0.254) I have done all troubleshooting techniques on p. 25-26 of the 3.0 manual. Yes, I did download the 3.0 rpms.
Installed via RPM as root ltsp-core, ltsp kernel (NOT the ppa), the X-core and the X-Fonts. Also installed 336-x-Mach64, 336-svga just in case. doing Netstat -ap | grep xdmcp shows me 1228/kdm in /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc, I made sure the [XDMCP] enable = true I also put in the line XDM_SERVER = 192.168.0.254 in the global section of the lts.conf. Also, XSERVER = auto in the [ws001] section, Ihave xserver=auto, but also tried XFree86, XF86_SVGA, XF86_Mach64. Does the [ws001] label need to match up with DHCP's label for IP? my remote machine has an ip of 192.168.0.10 - it is not in the /etc/hosts file. Can anyone think of what to do to get my remote station to log into KDE? S. David Rose William M.
