Hi all, I became inspired by the below message from James Vasey and by Martin Herweg's dhcpd.conf generator script (-link below-) to write a perl script that would take input from the user and add/edit the applicable entries to the dhcpd.conf, lts.conf, and hosts files. While there is the ltsp webmin module available, it seems that some people might not be running webmin and you still have to make entries in 3 places. Using my feeble perl scripting skills, I hacked something together last night. So far, it only adds workstations - does not edit, but it does seem to do the trick. It will first back up existing files and then append the new workstation data to the files. The script can also write the files from scratch if they don't exist. I was wondering what the thoughts of the members of this list were. Would many people be interested in a script like this? How do most LTSP users go about adding new workstations?
