Hi Wolfgang, Great documentation! I've been playing around with sound this week and I have mixing working without having to enable local apps by using esd rather than nasd. Esd can use the same LD_PRELOAD trick that is used with nasd to hijack calls made to /dev/dsp. If ESDDSP_MIXER=1 is set, esd can hijack /dev/mixer as well. Fun stuff. The only oddity I've seen so far is that if XMMS is set to use the ESD plugin, you can't adjust the volume. If XMMS is set to use the OSS plugin, everything works fine. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone brave enough to give this a spin ;-) rpm: ftp://k12linux.mesd.k12.or.us/pub/distributions/ISO/K12LTSP-7.2/RPMS/ltsp_esound-0.1e-1.i386.rpm tarball: ftp://k12linux.mesd.k12.or.us/pub/distributions/testing/ltsp_esound.tgz -Eric _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
