that's somehow true, and somehow not: The install script is NOT modifing /etc/opt/kde2/share/config/kdm/kdmrc yet. That was no problem with older Versions of Suse/KDE but now XDMCP is disabled by default in /etc/opt/kde2/share/config/kdm/kdmrc so the terminals will get no login-screen. see also: http://www.ltsp.org/documentation/ltsp-3.0.0/ltsp-3.0.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- 6.6.1. Grey screen with large X cursor .. KDM Newer versions of KDM have a file called kdmrc . Different Linux distributions store that file in different locations. For Redhat 7.2, it is /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc. For the other distros, you should run the locate to find out where it is stored. The entry that controls whether remote workstations can get a login is in the [Xdmcp] section. Make sure that the Enable entry is set to true. --------------------------------------------------------------------- and I noticed another bug in the install script: some fields have [/bin/sh] instead of [Y] or [N] The Linux Terminal Server Project (http://www.LTSP.org) ---------------------screenshot----------------------------------------- /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess Configure xdm to allow any host [Y] /etc/inetd.conf Start bootpd from inetd [N] /etc/dhcpd.conf.example Example config file for dhcp [/bin/sh] /etc/rc.config Start dhcp daemon in rc.config [Y] /etc/exports Config file for nfs [/bin/sh] /etc/hosts.allow Config file for tcp wrappers [/bin/sh] /etc/rc.config Enable inetd in rc.config [Y] /etc/rc.config Start NFS-Server in rc.config [Y] /etc/rc.config Start portmapper from rc.config [Y] /etc/rc.config Configure syslogd for remote access [Y] /etc/inetd.conf Start tftpd from inetd [Y] /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config The main config file for XDM [Y] Ready to apply the changes?
