Why my diskless stations don't have names?
My diskless workstations boot from boot server.
When I login to the diskless station
and type something like
uname -n
the answer is an empty string.
We have DNS server. I can ping (or telnet) workstation
using another node by name or by IP-address.
(ping node125 or ping 172.16.11.125)
I can even ping or telnet to diskless station
from this station itself.
So why uname -n produce an empty line?
It's not really a big problem, but still
it's unusual and rather annoying.
