What is mosix looking for specifically?

Is it looking for a fqdn from the dns?

Or just a computer name (netbios type computer name?)

If your dynamically assigning IP addresses you'll have to setup DDNS to
update the DNS server with the New IP address whenever the lease expires
and/or a new IP address is resolved by the Terminal.

If you setup the terminal with a static IP (you can assign this from the
DHCP server) you could enter that in the DNS table and you wouldn't need to
worry about DDNS.
