Hi, I have used mosix on my office workstations. It seems to work very well. You can watch processes migrating from machine to machine to balance out the load. There is good information about mosix in general at http://www.mosix.org/ and more specifically about mosix with LTSP at http://www.ltsp.org/links.php
check that stuff out and let me know if there are questions I can help you with. Specifically, I would download the Mosix source and unpack it and read the README file. That will give you the installation basics. I have a question for you about your application server installations. Do you use rsh or ssh, and how do you handle the authentication? Do you use the xhost command or xauth for rsh, or identity keys for ssh? I would like to use ssh, but managing keys for hundreds of users that don't know what a key is seems problematic. Does anybody have any ideas about this? I'm not willing to use xhost because people around here would be very quick to start messing with other peoples displays.
