a little info on my setup:

i am running ltsp on rh7.2, using a dual celeron 366 with 198mb ram,
this will soon be upgraded to a dual 466 with 512mb ram

i have three workstations, all with the same nic, video and sound,
celeron 366 cpu and 128mb ram

everything i need to work runs flawlessy on the workstations, hancom
office, web browsing real audio/video, xmms

but there is one app that i would like to get running properly, xine, i
use it to watch various movies etc.., now while xine runs just fine on
the server, in fact it plays my dvd's better than other windows
programs, but i won't get into that :-), i would like to set it up so
that xine runs locally on my workstations, instead of from the server,
as the video is rather choppy when being delivered to the workstation
(but the sound is great), i am using a 100mb switched network to connect
the workstations, and it seems that running the app locally would be the
preferred way to do it

so my question is this: has anyone set up xine to run locally on their
ltsp workstations, if so what tips can you offer, or do you use a
different player to view mpegs, and divx on your ltsp workstations

any advice on getting xine to run locally would be greatly appreciated,
and yes i have read the manual on how to run apps locally, but i just
want to see if others have accomplished this and how they have done so
before i start mucking around with it

many thanks
