One of my clients runs extremely slow. After the login prompt comes, I
enter the login name. Now when I hit TAB to go to the password prompt it
takes almost 2-3 minutes. After I login, KDE also takes time to load and
menus, icons and applications take a long time to get refreshed.

I have two clients and one server. Configurations as follows:

Server:
P4 1.6 GHz/256MB/Red Hat 7.2 with Ext3/LTSP 3/ 100 Mbps Ethernet Card

Network
100 Mbps Switched Network.

Clients:
1. Pentium MMX 233MHz/32 MB/Cirrus Logic Display Card/10 Mbps Ethernet Card
2. P3 1GHz/256 MB/Intel 810/100 Mbps Ethernet Card

The client 1 runs extremely slow wheres client 2 runs fine. Is the
slowness due to difference in the Ethernet Card? Isn't X suppose to be
low on network resources since it was designed in the age of 9.6 Kbps
Serial Connections?

I have also switched off Screen Servers but no difference. There is
hardly any load on the server too.

Regards
Prakash
