ltsp uses telnet for connection -> no encryption. It would be the simplest to 
do everything over ssh, that's perfectly secure. 

Actually, why doesn't ltsp use ssh instead of telnet? It is
1) easier to configure (X authentication)
2) secure
3) doesn't use too much cpu power either, maybe 5 percent of the cycles that 
the X server uses.
