Looking for info on how to set the wall paper to a custom image, rather than
the default grey hash, on the terminals.

the name Desktop0 is misleading - it applies to all desktops.
the reason it works only for :0 is that you invoke Xsetup_0 (which
invokes kdmdesktop) only for display :0. that can be changed with the
Setup= setting in the various X-<dpy-spec>-Core sections.
