Chris
For authentication, we use Novell's User Account Management v2.1 (UAM). This
gets installed on the Linux server and assists in the migration of existing
Linux accounts and groups to NDS. It also includes a pam_nds module to allow
you to authenticate any PAM (pluggable authentication modules) aware service to
nds. In the case of LTSP, you set up /etc/pam.d/kde (if you are using kdm) to
use the NDS pam module. Once you have this set up, you can simply use Novell's
ConsoleOne to manage all users and accounts.

For file sharing, we use Novell's NFS v3.0. This is simply an NFS server for
Novell. You export the directories you want LTSP users to have access to
(namely, the user home directories) and then mount them from the linux box.

Also, NDS has a LDAP compatible interface. I use perl scripts on my linux
server for the bulk creation of new accounts, etc.

That's some basic info. Let me know if you want more specifics on any part of this.

HTH,
Derek
