I'm working with a home setup I built solely to make my environment quieter.
My server has an ATI TV Wonder card (a TV tuner card), and I would like to be able to use that card from my workstation. In fact, I can do that already ... to an extent. The problem is that there's no sound. The ATI TV card does its own audio processing, and has an exterior audio output jack on the rear of the card, as well as an internal output jack for connecting direct to a sound card (currently connected to an SBLive card in the server). If I start xawtv on the workstation, no sound from the TV card is present at the workstation. However, if I then go over to the server and plug speakers into the external output jack of the TV card, I get the expected sound. The sound at the server changes correctly as I switch channels on the workstation. So control of the card via the workstation is working just fine. My question is, can anyone think of a solution that would allow me to redirect the sound from the ATI TV Wonder card on the server over to the workstation? Or is this likely impossible due to the way the TV card has been designed? Please consider this more a thought-provoking question rather than anything urgent. :-) Ralph _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
