Rob,

Yes, x0rfbserver needs to be running local to the
workstation. It needs to be running on the machine that
has the frame buffer that you want it to grab!

My first time running x0rfbserver I also met with the
insistent help message/instant exit. I don't think
x0rfbserver wants any command-line args at all. Just run
it as is. It may at one time have taken commane-line args,
but now it seems to not like them in favor of a GUI
interface.

What are you trying to accomplish with the '-display'
option, though? x0rfbserver just latches onto the frame
buffer and publishes itself on a port like VNC. You then
need to launch a viewer (xrfbviewer or vncviewer) and point
it at the x0rfbserver to see the desktop on the remote
system.

> After reading the interesting discussions on this list
about x0rfbserver, I decided to give it a try. I quickly
realized that in order to shadow a user on a workstation,
x0rfbserver needed to be a local app. I haven't tried any
local apps up to this point yet.

files necessary to run x0rfbserver as a local app in the
/opt/ltsp/i386 tree.

trying to read the '-display' as its own argument and
doesn't know what to do with it. It won't actually launch
the app. Man x0rfbserver doesn't shine alot of light.
