I am new to this mailing list and I apologize if I ask for a subject
already treated. I am trying to use LTSP package for the first time and
I find this initial problem:
I use 3Com900-Combo NIC cards both on the server and the (only)
terminal.
The cards are connected by a BNC cable.
I boot from a floppy the ROM image eb-5.0.6-3c905-t4.lzdsk.
The network adapter is detected with the right MAC address but the
system hangs when "searching for server (DHCP)" appears.
The DHCP server is configured in the right way, because if I boot from
the HD, in which a Linux system is installed, the NIC is recognized and
the IP address is assigned by the server.
Using a RJ45 cross over cable I am not able to connect the two systems
in any case.
The server is running RedHat 7.1 - Kernel 2.4.2-2.
Has anyone some advice for me?
Thanks in advance.
David Merlin
