Can I check the install process you are using? You should do the initial install as root using the -net parameter from the installation directory: ../setup -net and install into (e.g.) /opt/staroffice5.2
You can then do workstation installs for each user by cd /opt/staroffice5.2/program ../setup But why StarOffice 5.2? Why not OpenOffice.org 1.0?
