I totally agree with Russ.  And the requirements analysis (which needs
to be brutally honest) needs to include costs with the benefits.  ie,
Outlook/Exchange allows us to do shared calendars, but also means we
will spend $$ for virus scanning, etc.  The OpenSource package provides
calendars this way, with these costs.  Is the $$ worth it?

Recognize also that Exchange 2000 is tightly tied to Active Directory.
If you have any thoughts about having multiple installations, you need to
understand the implications of AD across the WAN.  Backing up and
restoring the Exchange database can be an interesting experience as
well.

Outlook leads to Exchange, Exchange leads to AD, AD leads to replication
problems, etc etc
