Thanks for the tip. I had to modify it a bit to get it to work. Here's my start-up script:
setterm -powersave off -powerdown 0 -blank 0 setterm -store Not exactly sure that these will work at start-up (can't reboot my server!), but these commands do disable screen blanking when entered at the console. I think "-powerdown 0" is redundant, but "-blank 0" is not. Also it may be necessary it add "> /dev/tty12" (the console which I'm logging to) in the start-up script. cheers, Eric On Thu, Jul 04, 2002 at 09:39:51PM +0200, Alessandro Selli wrote: > Il giorno Wed, 3 Jul 2002, Eric Nodwell cos ha scritto: > > |From: Eric Nodwell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > |To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > |Date: Wed, 3 Jul 2002 15:35:55 -0700 > |Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] Logging to server console - how to prevent monitor > | sleeping? > | > | > |We have a small monitor on the server, and we're copying the logs to > |the console (with the line "*.* /dev/tty12" in /etc/syslog.conf). > |This works really well, since computer-literate grad students wander > |in and out of the office/server room and notice when something is not > |quite in order.
