Is anyone out there running any type of java applications on their LTSP
Server? I am having the following problem.
My environment:
PIII 1.2
512 mb ram
RedHat 7.3
LTSP 3.0.4
Thin clients are a mix of Pentium & PIII's.
The Server and the ThinClients all work fine. I can run any KDE/Gnome app
without any problem. I have an Accounting App called MyBooksPro that is
written entirely in java. It runs great on the server but when I run it
from a ThinClient it does not display correctly. The small splash screen
comes up but past that the screens are grey with no entry fields, buttons
or icons unless the mouse moves over the area and even then they are not
painted entirely.
The application uses jre1.3.
I have tried the following. I have logged on as various users. I have tried
Local Apps but I am not sure how to check or troubleshoot if Local Apps are
working.
I can run the client application from other non-ThinClient machines i.e. Win98.
I can VNC into the server from the ThinClient and the app runs fine within
a vnc session so this leads me to believe that it is a java/java screen
refresh problem.
Anyone have any tips/tricks for java applications or how to troubleshoot
this problem. Could this be some sort of frame buffer problem?
Thanks in advance!
