You would need to configure your LTSP server with a modem that will
answer the phone and establish a ppp connection between the server and
client.  This is the same thing you do when you dial into an ISP.  This
will not yield very satisfactory performance for any graphical work.
56K is just too slow.

If what you want is to be able to have command line access, either for
controlling the server, or monitoring it, then you can just dialup the
modem without using ppp.
