I have finally been able to requisition a new server that we are planning to install at our office here. One thing I have been looking at recently though is network traffic to reduce the wait time for items to load. I have looked at two different ways of doing this. One is the obvious to use gigabit Ethernet (either copper or fiber, which is better?) and the other is to use a dual port 10/100 nic. The server that I'm getting comes standard w/ a dual Intel 10/100 NIC and the option to buy a fiber gigabit card is about $800 US. Is there documented performance charts on the same subject?
