Some people use the mtools project to implement floppy support (via floppyd daemon) on their workstations. This has the limitation of not being able to format floppy disks on the workstations and requiring the floppies to be in MSDOS format.
Others use the contrib by Robert Stanford that implements local floppy support using NBD (Network Block Device). However, the best solution is going to be to use the ENBD (Enhanced Network Block Device) project that we (collectively as a group :) payed to have enhanced even further to add removeable media support for floppy and cdrom drives. This should (eventually) allow formatting devices and access to any filesystem supported by the application server (msdos, vfat, ext2, minix, etc.). Hopefully this support will make it into the next LTSP release. Alex Robertson wrote: >hi. > >Does anyone uses floppy drive on worksation?
