Firstly thanks to those who helped me with my NEWBIE QUESTION. I finally got it working (sort of).
An interesting thing happened last night. For testing purposes I've set the run level to ws001 to 3 so it boots to a bash prompt and from there I can use 'sh /tmp/script_ws' and the X loging appears and all's well (will eventually set run level to 5). But during initial testing/setup if ws001 doesn't get properly authenticated by the server and I reboot ws001 I continually get file system errors on ws001 display. Server /var/log/messages shows the DHCPDISCOVER DHCPREQUEST stuff blah blah blah and ws001 gets it's IP address but won't boot, displaying the error. I have to restart the server PC to get things to work again. Tried stopping dhcpd, nfs, portmap and xinetd services and then restarting them to no avail. Must reboot PC. Any suggestions much appreciated. Yours Kindly, Brendan Henderson Design, IT & Sales Executive ____________________________________________________________________________ _____ From: B.
