hanX bill,

Could u suggest me which of this is  a better solution ??

Scenario

We do BPO(Background processing office)....we have many clients ...like Exxon Mobil ....Western Union phone pay etc we have teams which manage these accounts whom we call a process .......Now each of team has two sets of software's which can de divided as PROCESS SPECIFIC (eg Exxon process uses Oraccle ADI, Discoverer..........while WUPP process uses Extra personal Client mainframe sessions)other set is called the core load (Stuff common 2 all the teams like...OS + Office Suite + Browser +Acrobat)

I have come up with following ideas/solutions

1) Boot from CD ..which has image that has CORE LOAD (i.e .OS + Office Suite + Browser +Acrobat) and then connect to LTSP server for process specfic software

My logic:This way I core load at client.....client simply connect to server process specific application .............since process specific software have more frequent upgrade we can upfrade at server ...........Core load being relatively constant  cd  ...we may update in once a year ..also cd are cheap  ....

Advantage: Server load will less....also if server fails ...clients continue to work on thier basic core load software....thus not too much strian on server

2)Boot from network via bootrom.....applications run on server

Though theoriticaly best solution will it possible for CPU intensive applications like Oracle ADI, Visual Forkflow + coreload to run central server without performance degradation

3) Have coreload in a harddisk then then connect to server for process specific software.............personally  this is  least .prefered.........in case all other options fail

plzzzzzzz suggest

thanX
