To attach a standard x client to an ltsp network is very simple as the X
uses xdmcp

to attach, try

X -broadcast

from any x system on the same lan.

You could also play with Xnest -broadcast on your local ltsp client to
see what happens. I use this as a kind of su for X.

both will give you the ?dm manager login screen.
