I have my motherboard working now and the PXE does
function,
but the tftp transfer is very slow. I have another
box that is an older
mother board and boots from a floppy. It boots
quickly. The newer
board has a 100Mb full-duplex lan built in; the
older has a 100Mb
card that may be full-duplex, I'm not
sure.
The newer system when booting (very slowly) pauses
a long time
doing the pivot_root and mounting other
filesystems.
Both boards are set up for local apps, local swap,
and no x.
I know I'm leaving stuff out of this message. What
other data must
I include? Does this problem seem familiar to
anyone?
