No. If every package were packaged like this, you would have 25% (according 
to your calculation, almost 100% according to Jim) more space occupied on 
your disk than you need.

Booting with Etherboot is a reliable method that works for many people. We 
should not force them to install unnecessary stuff.
BTW, I have had several requests to create a .deb version of the sound 
package, but none for the pxe package, so the interest (at least among 
Debian users) seems to be limited.

This seems to be the best solution. Installing an additional package is easy 
with correct dependencies. If help is needed to split the packages, I could 
do that after I am back from vacation.
