I have installed ltsp and have it configured properly
(i think). I downloaded the appropriate disk image
for the client and it boots the floppy but will not
access the network. I may be having problems with the
floppy, I'm not sure. The output it gives me is this:
blah blah blah
boot local or network?? blah
Probing: blah Found the network card it should :
doesn't give mac address or try to connect to dhcp
though.
Has anyone else experienced this?? the network card
image is the 3c900b-tpo image. It is the right one
for the card, the name matches perfictly.
The only problem that I see possible (after working
threw the troublshooting part of the docs) is that my
network is having a conflict b/c of its setup.
Heres how my network is setup:
Cable modem --->Netgear Router ----->Hub -----> client
|------->Server
So my client is attached to a hub that is attached to
the router and the server is attached directly to the
router. Heres the catch, the Router has its own dhcp
server and I need it to be running so the windows
machine on the network will work properly. Will have
two dhcp servers on my network (one the router and one
my server) cause a problem and if so what are possible
solutions?
Thanks for all the help, the truly awesome thing about
linux is its loyal community that provides some of the
best tech support around.
thanks alot,
douglas
