Funny - we used Staroffice 5.2 for over a year with over 20 clients with no problems. From: John Clay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 31 Oct 2002 13:10:58 -0500I've run into a problem with Star Office 5.2: If loaded by root, with the networking switch, it isn't available to other user accounts. This is a known issue involving the sofficerc file and I'm not sure if there is a reliable resolution yet.
You have to do a -net install as root, then do a workstation install for each client.
That said, you would do much better to install either Staroffice 6 or Openoffice.org 1.01 - the M$ compatability is *much* better - almost perfect for documents that aren't too complex.
By the way - it is 'Openoffice.org', not Open Office. There is another company with a trademark on the name 'Open Office'.
