I would try "gdmconfig" to check the session limit.

Try 'Expert', XDMCP.

Hmm - I get that on the 'gdmconfig' root passwd prompt, but not
on the welcome screen.

'gdmconfig', 'Basic', Login Behavior, Default Font should fix that one.

Alternatively, try another Display Manager, like kdm or xdm.

If you simply remove the gdm package I think it fails over to xdm.

The Progams menus are not automatically filled in. I use OpenOffice, but
StarOffice is similar. Look for a program called 'setup' in
/usr/staroffice6.0/program - or run 'locate soffice' to find the soffice
binary, and type the full path in in an xterm or Run prompt.

If you are using Gnome or Kde I think you can create a shortcut on the desktop.

If you are using icewm you can try 'iceme' - the ice menu editor - you
will have to find the RPM on the net and install it.
