Gerson, Stay with it man... you are close to done! :-) 1) The "broken" links are not broken. They point to the files in the ramdisk that is created on the clients at boot time. They will appear to be broken when observed from the server. This is normal.
2) The "Gray Screen of Life" is actually a good sign, it means that your client is alive and x is running on your video card. The problem is that your display manager (XDM, KDM or GDM depending on which you are running) is not allowing the client to get a log in screen.
